To Ethiopia/Schedules

Still in Hargeisa, Somaliland. Today I will be flying back to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Over the next ten days, I will be travelling around the historical cities of northern Ethiopia, mostly by flying around to save time on the road in this mountainous region. My schedule will be:
8 Apr Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar (by air)
9 Apr Bahir Dar - Gonder (by land)
11 Apr Gonder – Lalibela (by air)
14 Apr Lalibela – Aksum (by air)
15 Apr Aksum – Addis Ababa (by air)
On 16 Apr, I will leave Ethiopia to fly to Uganda. Think M1 roams there.

enjoy the north. lalibela is a magical place, get up at dawn and explore the churches. there are good hikes in the hills beyond axum. when i was there in 2002 i setup axum's first internet service! i wonder if it's still running. and take a boat out to the islands in lake tana. these beautiful ancient bibles...if the monks only knew what they could get for them on ebay. :)
