On Saturday night, I will depart for China on a 3-week journey through Dongbei/Manchurian region, ending the trip in Shanghai for the World Expo.
My rough itinerary is:
16 May:
Arrival in Beijing. Visit to the 2008 Olympic sites... it has been 3 years since I was last in Beijing, one of my favourite cities.
17 May:
Early morning flight to Mohe at the northern tip of Heilongjiang. Prob stay 1 night at "Arctic Village" (BeiJi Cun) facing Russia.
18 May
Mohe; Overnight train to Harbin.
19 May
Reaching Harbin in afternoon.

21 May Harbin to Changchun by rail. About 4 hours.
22 May Changchun
Overnight train to Changbaishan.
22-25 May Chanbaishan (not sure if too long - to investigate. If so, move on earlier).
25 May Chanbaishan to Ji'an via Tonghua by rail or bus
26 May see Kogoryo ruins in Ji'an.
27 May Ji'an to Shenyang bt bus - 4 hours
28 May Shenyang
29 May Shenyang to Dalian by bus (4.5 hrs)

30 May Dalian to Shanghai by air

30 May to 4 June Shanghai
World Expo & catch-up with friends. May squeeze some time for Nanjing.
5 June
Back to Singapore via overnight flight.
