It was a long muddy walk there. It's a major tourist attractions but the track there was really bad. The Ethiopian govt has no money for a road there. After we visited the place, a crowd of children surrounded us offering to wash the mud off our very dirty shoes. We paid about US$0.20 for that.
One of the picture shows fellow passengers on a boat across the Blue Nile to reach the falls. Some of the locals carry rifles around. There are still clan/tribal fights from time to time, they say.
