I took a shared taxi (RM15) 1 1/2 hr to the town of Kota Belud to see Sabah's largest tamu, or market, held every Sunday. No big deal...seen enough markets in my life. A little disappointed that even Bajau horsemen in their colourful costume were no where to be seen. But at least I caught a glimpse of Mt Kinabalu from here, which is in the foothills of the mountain. There is a brightly painted Taoist Tua Beh Kong temple but it was locked. |
